Truckee Dance Factory brings back its original holiday hit, The Twisted Nutcracker: The Tail of the Mouse King, for two nights of high energy dance, humor, and reimagined holiday storytelling. First staged in 2017, this local favorite puts the spotlight on the Mouse King and retells the classic Nutcracker tale from his side of the story—with bold characters, unexpected twists, and a cast that blends seasoned performers with talented dancers as young as eight.
Expect a fast-paced, crowd-pleasing production that fuses hip hop, breaking, contemporary, jazz, ballet, and acro into a fresh take on a timeless tradition. With guest artists, alumni appearances, and plenty of festive sparkle, it’s a lively holiday outing for families, Nutcracker fans, and anyone who loves a creative spin on a classic.
