5 Star Stay All the Way!

March 2023
, Los Gatos, CALIFORNIA United States

Overall
5

Hands down the best Tahoe rental! It’s clean, warm, roomy and beautifully furnished. There’s space for everyone and many details and touches to make you feel right at home. The pictures just don’t do it justice. The house has been renovated so it’s modern and up-to-date while maintaining the feel and charm of a ski lodge with touches like wood throughout. Outside, it was quiet and peaceful surrounded by snow covered trees as far as the eye could see. The house provided the perfect place for our families to gather and spend quality time together at the dining table playing board games, drinking wine and watching the snow fall outside through the big picture windows while 80s videos were playing on the big screen TV. Communication was clear and easy. We were emailed a detailed list of what would be supplied which I really appreciated. For example, we knew there would be a coffee maker, grinder and filters and quantity of paper products and household supplies. With other rentals, you don’t always know what will be there so it’s a guessing game. Some other highlights:-TBH, I’ve never seen a cleaner rental in Tahoe. I’m happy to pay a bit more for cleaning if it means staying in an immaculate house like this. -Lots of space throughout the house for watching TV, playing games, reading, relaxing or just staring at the beautiful landscape outside. There was a quiet office area separate from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the house for anyone WFH. The gorgeous deck had seating and a hot tub. -Huge front entry with room to take off wet snow gear and an adjacent large fireplace hearth to dry gear overnight. The attached garage was the perfect spot to stash ski gear.-Fully stocked kitchen with literally everything you could ask for including dishes, cups and utensils for 12, pots and pans, new small appliances like a hot water boiler and toaster oven, and more. New appliances, simple to use.-Bathrooms were stocked with travel size soap, shampoo, lotion and clean, white fluffy towels. There was even a towel warmer! -Beds had crisp white sheets and firm mattresses. Everyone in our group slept like babies! -Heater was efficient and changes in the thermostat were felt immediately.-Helpful signs posted throughout such as for wifi login and to find things in the kitchen. The owners put thought into what guests would need and made it so easy.-The Northstar shuttle picks up and drops off right in front of the house so you don’t have to worry about fighting the crowds in the parking lot. The property manager was great about informing us to download the Northstar shuttle app in advance and it was so easy to use.Thank you for a wonderful weekend - it was even better than we could have imagined and we feel so lucky to have made such great memories!

Beautiful and welcoming cabin in the Northstar community

I stayed here recently with my boyfriend and close friends for a ski trip and had a fantastic time. It was a simple process to book online and accessing the cabin upon arrival was quick and simple so I'd have to say based on our experience the owners and management team are really responsive and friendly. As for the cabin itself, it's super welcoming with the full range of amenities (hot tub, multiple fireplaces etc.) as well as a lot of extra thoughtful features and touches. We really appreciated the ski storage and mud area in the large entryway, with plenty of coat hooks and a seating bench for changing in and out of all our ski boots and outer layers -- coupled with complimentary shuttle access to the Northstar base, it was really easy and fast to get to the lifts and back. At the same time, there were a few of us who enjoyed just lounging around the cabin all day for which the cabin's large windows with stained glass accents throughout provided for a really relaxing and inviting environment to stay in and admire the snow outside. The aforementioned hot tub was the perfect temperature and especially soothing after hitting the slopes. Being able to use the full kitchen was also great for those nights we were feeling ambitious enough to cook a group dinner for which the large dining table and multiple living rooms were perfect for meals and games together (note: there's a cool hanging wine glass rack above the kitchen counter for those who appreciate a nice glass to end the day). The four XL twin bunk beds were perfect for a few of our single friends who also joined, and I suspect they might be even better for a family with kids (note: there's a foosball table in the adjacent loft area!) . We didn't get a chance to use the sauna, but nonetheless appreciated the option along with all the helpful signs and other nice accents around the place. We're already looking forward to planning our next trip back to Northstar and hope to stay here again if it's not already booked. Thanks for an amazing stay!
