North Lake Tahoe Spring Break 2026

Nothing beats spring in Lake Tahoe. The days are longer, there’s plenty of snow (even if it is a bit slushier thanks to the ample sunshine), the weather is a bit warmer, and storm cycles keep the powder falling, giving us well over 250 inches of natural snow per year. Add to that all the extra daylight we gain over January and February, and you’ve got all the makings for an epic ski trip.
With six world-class ski areas in the North Lake Tahoe area: Northstar, Palisades Tahoe, Sugar Bowl, Homewood, Scott’s Peak, and Diamond Peak, there’s no shortage of on-mountain springtime adventures to be had. Beyond skiing, the North Tahoe area features an incredible line-up of spring events, concerts, and festivals.
If you're planning to visit Lake Tahoe for spring break, we compiled a list of some of our favorite to-dos. Check them out and be sure to add some to your itinerary!

Spring Adventures in North Lake Tahoe

While Lake Tahoe is one of the best spring break skiing destinations, there are also other great spring activities for non-skiers to partake in! One of our favorites is at Palisades Tahoe for Disco Tubing. Disco tubing is a great, family-friendly nighttime event with flashing lights, lasers, and a live DJ. You can experience this great event every Saturday in March from 5 pm to 7 pm. Be sure to purchase tickets in advance so you do not miss out on this nighttime fun!
Enjoy the beauty of spring in the mountains with a sunset snowshoe tour, guided by Tahoe Adventure Company, offered every Friday evening.
If you want a leisurely day, you can go fishing along the Truckee River. Fresh snow melts increase water levels and make for a great outing.
Most Wednesdays starting in February through the end of the season, Diamond Peak Ski Resort hosts the Last Tracks Wine/Beer Tasting. Last Tracks participants can take advantage of half-day lift tickets followed by the last chair to Snowflake Lodge, where wine or craft beer tastings are paired with tasty appetizers and breathtaking lake views. Purchase tickets in advance; this event sells out.
If you happen to miss Last Tracks, but still want a tasting experience while visiting Lake Tahoe, head to the Tahoe Wine Collective. Special events like Blind Flight Fridays and other community activities make it a great outing, especially this time of year, with the warmer weather and popular aprés to-dos.
